Size-controlled synthesis of spinel nickel ferrite nanorods by thermal decomposition of a bimetallic Fe/Ni-MOF

چکیده

In this work, size-controlled synthesis of nickel ferrite nanoparticles was achieved by the calcination a bimetallic (Fe/Ni) metal-organic framework (MOF). The MOF (Fe2Ni-MIL-88B) itself prepared two-step route. first step involved secondary building unit (SBU) reacting stoichiometric amounts Ni and Fe precursors with acetic acid. A ligand substitution reaction (terephthalate replaces acetate) in SBU leads to formation MOF, which characterized PXRD, FTIR, SEM TEM. Afterwards, calcined under air atmosphere obtain nanorods. PXRD analysis confirmed spinel structure ferrites while electron microscopic (SEM, TEM) revealed their nanorod-like morphology. By increasing temperature from 600 1000 °C, particle size increased 16 32 nm. Oxidation benzyl alcohol used as model test probe applicability nanorods for catalysis. Interestingly, largest exhibited highest activity (86% conversion), thus demonstrating potential catalyzing oxidation reactions.

Synthesis of CuO nanorods via thermal decomposition of copper-dipicolinic acid complex

Template-free CuO nanorods were synthesized through a three-step chemical method with no water-insoluble materials. The first step included the preparation of a Cu-complex, which was obtained from dipicolinic acid, L-lysine, and copper nitrate. Then, as the second step, the obtained solution was allowed to be relaxed for a week to and formation of some blue single-crystals single crystals, whic...

Nickel Oxide (NiO) nanoparticles prepared by solid-state thermal decomposition of Nickel (II) schiff base precursor

In this paper, plate-like NiO nanoparticles were prepared by one-pot solid-state thermal decomposition of nickel (II) Schiff base complex as new precursor. First, the nickel (II) Schiff base precursor was prepared by solid-state grinding using nickel (II) nitrate hexahydrate, Ni(NO3)2∙6H2O, and the Schiff base ligand N,N′-bis-(salicylidene) benzene-1,4-diamine) for 30 min without using any solv...

Synthesis of ferrite and nickel ferrite nanoparticles using radio-frequency thermal plasma torch

Nanocrystalline ~NC! ferrite powders have been synthesized using a 50 kW–3 MHz rf thermal plasma torch for high-frequency soft magnet applications. A mixed powder of Ni and Fe (Ni:Fe 51:2), a NiFe permalloy powder with additional Fe powder (Ni:Fe51:2), and a NiFe permalloy powder (Ni:Fe51:1) were used as precursors for synthesis. Airflow into the reactor chamber was the source of oxygen for oxi...
